The shop

We do one thing: Jeep vented hoods, done right.

Hoodsmith Co. is a small shop — literally a "hood smith." We don't run a 500-SKU catalog, and we don't chase a new "hot product" every quarter.

We focus on a single mission: a steel hood for JL, JT and JK owners that fits, lasts, and has an honest price tag.

That means we only touch what we can control:

• Sourcing — direct manufacturing-side supply, with every batch checked against factory panel lines
• Fitment — a pre-order checklist, and a free return if it doesn't match; wrong-fit risk is ours, not yours
• Pricing — the full math shown (freight included, paint budget stated, warranty written down); no fake strike-through games
• Truth — cooling gains are limited at highway speed, paint costs $300-600 at a body shop; we say so, on the record

Why we publish content that talks us out of sales

On this site you'll find an article explaining why a vented hood won't fix your highway temps.

That's an odd thing for a seller to publish. Our view: a shop willing to tell you what it won't promise is a shop you can trust with $859 and a 60-day wait. If your use case doesn't call for a vented hood, we'll tell you not to buy one — not as a gesture, but as our customer filter.

Why we only do hoods

"Why not sell light brackets, side steps, door handles — the easy add-ons?"

Because every new SKU splits the same finite resources: fitment verification, warranty, support, content. We ran the math — a shelf of "easy add-on money" never beats one product done at 100%.

Focus isn't a limitation; it's all our resources pointed at one thing. That's the reason to buy your hood from a shop that only does hoods.
