Jeep Hood Fitment Guide: Which Wrangler & Gladiator It Fits
Before you buy a vented hood, the question isn't "will it look good" — it's "will it bolt on." Here's the straight answer for JK, JL, and Gladiator JT, and an honest explanation of why the Rubicon 392 and the Mojave are the two trims that don't make the list.
The one-line fitment summary
Will a JL hood fit a JT? Yes — same shell
The Wrangler JL (2018+) and the Gladiator JT (2020+) share the same hood stamping. The pickup's cab is longer, but the front clip — fenders, hood, and windshield base — carries over from the JL. So a single vented hood fits both, and you don't need a "separate Gladiator part."
This is why we list one product for JL and JT rather than two. If your Jeep is a standard JL or JT, you're covered. The exception is the trim — see below.
Does a JK hood fit a JL or JT? No
The JK (2007-2018, round-headlight era) uses a different hood shell and a different mounting geometry than the JL/JT. They are not interchangeable, even though both are four-door Wranglers. If you own a JK, order the dedicated JK hood — the JL/JT part will not line up with the hinges or the cowl.
For the JK-vs-JL breakdown with measurements, see our JL vs JK hood difference guide.
Why it does NOT fit the Rubicon 392 or the Mojave
This is the part most listings skip. The 392 and the Mojave don't just "have a different badge" — they roll out of the factory with a raised "Power Dome" performance hood: a center intake scoop plus a cowl panel that sits higher than the standard JL/JT hood. That changes two things:
1. The cowl panel height is different — so it won't seal
The rear edge of the hood meets the cowl panel (the strip at the base of the windshield). On a 392/Mojave the Power Dome raises that panel's height and profile. Our vented hood is stamped to the standard JL/JT cowl, so on a 392/Mojave the hood's rear edge wouldn't sit flush against the windshield base — a gap you'd see and hear at speed. It's not a defect in the part; it's a mismatch in the geometry.
2. The factory scoop is a real cold-air intake — ours can't replicate it
The 392's Hydro-Guide intake is functional: it feeds cold air to the 6.4L HEMI and includes a water-separating path for deep-water crossings. The Mojave's center scoop is tuned for desert low-speed, high-load cooling. Our vented hood pulls heat out of the engine bay with louvers, but it does not carry that factory ducting — so swapping it onto a 392/Mojave would lose the intake function those trims were built around.
Why we tell you this instead of writing "fits all": plenty of listings pretend a standard hood drops onto a 392 or Mojave. It doesn't. We'd rather lose the sale than ship you a hood that won't seat — because a returned, non-fitting hood is the fastest way to turn a buyer into a bad review. Fitment is the one thing we don't fudge.
Fitment at a glance
| Model | Years | Trims | Our hood |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wrangler JK | 2007-2018 | All | JK hood only |
| Wrangler JL | 2018+ | Sport / Sahara / Rubicon / 4xe | JL / JT hood |
| Gladiator JT | 2020+ | All except Mojave | JL / JT hood |
| Wrangler JL 392 | 2021+ | Rubicon 392 | Does not fit |
| Gladiator JT Mojave | 2020+ | Mojave | Does not fit |
JK and JL/JT hoods are separate parts — not cross-compatible. When in doubt, send your VIN.
How to confirm fitment before you order
- Know your model & year. JK (2007-2018), JL (2018+), or Gladiator JT (2020+).
- Check the trim. If it's a 392 or a Mojave, stop — this hood isn't for you, and that's by design.
- Send us the VIN. Email your 17-digit VIN and we'll confirm fitment free before you pay a cent.
- Order the right shell. JK → JK hood; standard JL/JT → JL/JT hood.
Paint & install notes (fitment-adjacent)
Every hood ships in black primer — you paint it to match. Fitment is our job; color is yours, and a body shop can blend it to your factory code. Install uses the factory hinge points (no drilling on JK/JL/JT), but hood alignment is best done by a shop with a stud gun. See the install guide and the paint-cost guide to budget the whole job.

FAQ
Will a JL hood fit a Gladiator JT?
Yes. The Wrangler JL (2018+) and Gladiator JT (2020+) share the same hood shell, so a single JL/JT vented hood covers both — as long as your trim is not the 392 or the Mojave. Confirm your year and trim before ordering.
Does a JK hood fit a JL or JT?
No. The JK (2007-2018) uses a different hood shell and different mounting points than the JL/JT. JK and JL/JT hoods are not interchangeable, even though both are four-door Wranglers.
Why doesn't it fit the Rubicon 392 or the Mojave?
Those trims ship from the factory with a raised "Power Dome" performance hood — a center intake scoop plus a taller cowl panel. Our vented hood is stamped to the standard JL/JT cowl height, so on a 392/Mojave the rear edge won't seat flush against the windshield base. The factory scoop is also a functional cold-air/water-separating intake that an aftermarket vented hood can't replicate. That's why we list it honestly as NOT fitting 392 or Mojave.
How do I be 100% sure before I buy?
Send us your 17-digit VIN (free) and we'll confirm fitment before you order. If it's a standard JL/JT or JK, you're covered; if it's a 392 or Mojave, we'll tell you straight so you don't buy the wrong part.
